Faculty of Agriculture and Allied Sciences (FAAS), Bhubaneswar, is the brain child of our Hon’ble President under the aegis of C.V. Raman Global University, and has been operational since academic year 2020-21seeking a unique and entrepreneurial outlook for Agricultural Education.
In the field of agriculture, scientific research and technological advances are constantly progressing. Farmers are under constant distress due to unforeseen environmental changes and crop stresses. The transfer of knowledge and technologies from research laboratories & institutes to farmers’ fields is warranted. Apparently, there is a growing thrust on blended agricultural education system with more participatory devolutions as mentioned in New Education Policy 2020.
Understanding current industry needs, FAAS has designed an efficient agricultural education curriculum as per the guidelines of ICAR. We are providing an efficient platform and blended learning experience where knowledge, resources and opportunities meet. Prospective graduates are taught various fundamental, applied and advanced courses to address bottlenecks and sustainable solutions as a part of B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture curriculum. Our graduates would be kept abreast with on-going research projects and farm business models in India and abroad.
We teach and nurture dynamic entrepreneurs who wish to take up farming and value addition of farm produce for enhancing the profitability. We involve our students in revolving fund projects wherein they gain expertise beyond academics such as project planning and implementation which helps them to transform themselves into confident Agripreneurs. We have state-of-the-art infrastructure and intellectual legacy for making classroom and practical learning more enjoyable and intriguing. In our team, we draw intellectually acclaimed faculty and guest faculty for teaching.
FAAS is one of the most ambitious educational initiatives of CGU and is situated in Khurda district of Odisha. FAAS is a residential campus wherein students and agriculture co-exist. We are committed to bring in a prosperity to the lives of farming communities in this region. We aim to establish knowledge hubs and innovation hubs for local enthusiasts for bringing adoptable technologies to earn more income.
CGU’s FAAS is focused to give an extra mile to knowledge and career of graduates because our students unique track record in skill competitions and placements speaks volumes about practical exposure and training.
