Overview

Department of Chemistry acts as one of the supporting streams under Basic Sciences that strengthens the fundamentals of students driving them to apply their knowledge for various applications. The department has grown up to the knowledge centre of both basic and applied science & technology with qualified and experienced faculty. They undertake the teaching of Chemistry, Material Science & Engineering, Material Science, Environmental Engineering & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Boiler Chemistry, and deals with project work of students of different disciplines. Apart from providing quality education the department is dedicated to advanced research and development programmes in various fields, more specifically development of process technology for the production of biofuels, solid waste management, plant extraction, development of solar devices, photocatalytic reactions, synthesis of catalytic materials etc.
