The overall goal of CGU, Odisha is to prepare its students to practice engineering and, in particular, to deal with the forces and materials of nature. Thus, from the earliest days of its inception, the instructional laboratories at CGU, Odisha have been an essential part of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs. Indeed, Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering gives emphasis on theory classes as well as hands-on-training at its state-of-art laboratories.

Analog Electronics Circuit Laboratory

The objective of this laboratory is to link the theoretical concepts of different analog electronics circuits with practical feasibility thereby giving them a scope to learn basic electronics circuits and their different electrical characteristics in a better way.

 

Digital Electronics Circuit Laboratory

This lab takes care of the understanding of the design of various digital electronics circuit components and implementations taught at undergraduate level.

 

 

Communication Laboratory

The communication laboratory of the department is adequately equipped to conduct the experiments on analog and digital communication. This laboratory provides a platform to the students to understand the basics of analog and digital communication systems, modulation techniques, data transmission, multiplexing, etc. This laboratory is equipped with RF Transmitter, Spectrum analyzers, Signal Generators, Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, modulation modules, etc.

 

Texas Instruments Inovation Laboratory

This lab is set up by Texas instruments under TI university programme. This lab exposes students to the fascinating world of analog and mixed-signal processing. The kit comes with a board comprised of ten basic groups of analog components, as well as with a manual that features 14 step-by-step experiments to help students learn analog with ease in a fun and engaging way. The course is adapted for curriculum. As part of the lab course, students will build analog systems using analog ICs and will study their macro models, characteristics and limitations. Soon students will be able to realize almost any analog system.

 

VLSI Design Laboratory

The objective of this laboratory is to teach the details of Digital and Analogue IC Design and Manufacturing Process to the undergraduate as well as postgraduate students. This laboratory was set up by aid granted from AICTE (Under the MODROBS scheme in the year 2006). The VLSI laboratory is well equipped with 30 high end PCs with various licensed software and 10 Xilinx Spartan 3E FPGA Boards for students. Both B. Tech & M. Tech students utilize this laboratory for their project work as well. The various licensed softwares are Cadence, XILINX ISE 8.1, Tanner Tool, Model SIM, Orcad, Microint. The students use Programming Languages like VHDL, Verilog, etc. to do their course work and project work.

Digital Signal Processing Laboratory

This laboratory plays a vital role in understanding of various signal processing techniques and algorithms of a student. Students are encouraged to develop algorithm and implement it in both MATLAB and DSP processors. This laboratory is also used by both B.Tech and M.Tech students. In addition to above, this laboratory also facilitates students who want to do minor and major projects in the area of signal processing.

 

Microprocessor & Microcontroller Laboratory

The laboratory provides in-depth understanding of microprocessor & microcontrollers, machine language programming and interfacing techniques. It imparts professional training to interface and build INTEL microprocessor & microcontroller applications and embedded system

 

Microwave & Antenna engineering Laboratory

This laboratory helps the students understand the basics of Microwave Engineering Concepts and gives a detailed description of the working principle of microwave components.

 

Design and Simulation Laboratory (M.Tech)

This Laboratory is exclusively developed for M. Tech students with high quality and high precision equipments, as per their course requirements. This laboratory caters the simulation work as well as real time demonstration practical of advanced communication systems like RF KIT and Network Analyzer

Image Analysis and Computer Vision Laboratory (R&D)

Digital image processing is a subcategory of digital signal processing. The objective of image processing is to develop algorithms to process/manipulate an image in a computer or machine for display, pre-processing, enhancement, extraction of features and analysis. Computer vision is the technology models the human vision based intelligence system to solve many complex real world problem. In principle, computer vision assimilates the fields of image/video processing, biological vision, statistics, probability, mathematical modelling, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, 2D sensors, optimization, augmented reality, and photography. Image processing and computer vision is the rapidly growing techniques to solve many real-world complex problems such as: Surveillance system, traffic flow control, Robot navigation, Driver Assistant Systems (DAS), Unmanned Vehicle, Reorganization, Industrial Automation, Non Destructive Testing and Human Machine Interfacing.

Image Analysis and Computer Vision Lab is a research laboratory in the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department established in the year 2008. IACV lab is dedicated to Image Segmentation, Face reorganization, Pattern Reorganization, Deep Learning, Image and video forgery detection, Video annotation, Moving object detection, Driver Assistant Systems (DAS), Vision based Robotics, Virtual Reality, Augment reality and Image Processing  and Computer Vision applications.IACV Lab currently has 10 working members and very good computational and facilities. The members actively publish their works in international journals and involved in different consultancy project.

Soft Computing Laboratory (R&D)

This lab is well equipped with modern computing facility having high speed internet connectivity for the thesis and research work of M.Tech students and faculties with 24X7 hours facility. This is a research lab to carry out projects of UG/ PG students. Lab focuses on basic research including artificial intelligence, IoT, Sensor Networking, Advanced Communication. Tools Available: MATLAB, NS2/ NS3, Python.
