After successfully completing Degree in Electrical Engineering and Business Management, Mr. Sanjib Kumar Rout decided to do something different. Being driven by an Inner urge and irresistible passion for the spread of technical education, he set up an Industrial training-cum- production centre in Bhubaneswar as his first venture. Following this, two more technical institutes were soon set up in and around the Temple City by him. Of these two, the first one was a polytechnic and the second one, a degree-level engineering college. For the smooth management, all the Institutes were clubbed together under one banner popularly known as C.V.Raman Group of Institutions (CVRGI). What made his job easy was the new Education Policy of the Government formulated and implemented in the year1996-97.
His sincere efforts to build up a group of educational institutions with a difference has helped him to carve out a niche for himself as a visionary and reformist educationist, contributing largely towards socio-educational growth and development with unique pedagogy and leadership role. In a short span of 23 years, CVRGI became a leading brand and a group of Institutions with Its own USP.
C. V. Raman College of Engineering (CVRCE), the flagship institution of the CVRGI bouquet, and the pride of Odisha, has, of late, become an iconic Institution by winning the 1stever Gold Medal for India In Water Technology at World Skill, Kazan, Russia. It has also become an undisputed leader of Future of Skills by offering quality education and training in technical skills.
This year on February 29 CVRCE was elevated to the status of a University and since then it has been renamed as C.V.Raman Global University, Odisha (CGU, Odisha). This achievement has become possible with the relentless efforts of our President and due to his visionary approach to put CGU among the top varsities in the world. Consequently, he has re-drawn his objectives as the nascent global varsity has set its goal on a pan-world outlook and beginning its new voyage.
It would be pertinent to mention here that our President stands committed to strategize the dreams and aspirations of millions of budding youngsters by providing them with quality education and bright global future.
At the very outset of her career, she joined Medical Relief Society of South Kanara (Regd.) (Manipal Education and Medical Group) as a Finance Executive. During her stint of four years (1990 93) there, she was one of the pioneering members for establishment of Medical campus at Pokhra, Nepal. Her persistent endeavour and pertinacity paved her way to become the Director, Finance of C. V. Raman Group of Institutions in the year 1997. She went on to adding one more feather to her professional career by joining the SSEPL a.s the Managing Director in the year 2000. She has been the leading member in conducting several skill training programs with Government of Odisha as well as Government of India under several schemes.
She has done her M.Com, AICWA,PGDM and she also has an LLB degree to her credit which she completed. Her professional journey from the Finance Executive in Medical Relief Society to Founder Director of SSEPL has been magnificent.
Prof. B.S.Satyanarayana, holds a Ph.D in Electrical Engg , a first in the area of Vacuum nano-electronics at Cambridge University UK. He has established himself as an inspirational leader & communicator with multidisciplinary skills for enabling cross functional & multi-cultural teams in Industry, R&D & Academics, with a systems & design thinking approach. He has earlier held responsibilities including those of CEO, Vice Chancellor, CTO, COO, Strategic Planning. Analysis & Implementation (Institution building & branding, infrastructure creation, compliance enabling, change management), R&D, Think Tank Head & Skilling. As the work involved new domains it also meant Mentoring, Extensive advocacy (including on new policy adaptations, clean & sustainable energy/technology & inclusive innovation) and developing Education Pedagogy for Skilling for the age of Edu 4.0, Industry 4.0 and IoT/IoE era. The work included setting up start-up companies, university, new groups in Academic, R&D & Industrial environment. This led to >$200 million R&D activity, 75 industry-based labs, international collaborations, many first of its kind technology, publications and patents in just the last 10 years especially in private institutions in India.
This includes 34 years of experience working in India, UK and Japan & with international partners in US, EU, UK, Germany, Russia, Singapore & S. Korea and with NGOs. He has published over 175 papers in journals and conference proceedings and delivered over 300+ invited & contributed talks. He has been featured in print & visual media in India and abroad. He holds 4 patents and has filed another 10 patents, guided 6 Ph.Ds. (1 under progress). Also won multiple awards for leadership, technology development, research and industry academic engagements.
In practice as a Chartered Accountant for last 44 years as Sr. Partner, SRB & Associates, having office at Bhubaneswar, Kolkata , Delhi and Hyderabad. As a Professional Chartered Accountant , he carried out assignment of Statutory Audits, Internal Audits, Tax & Project Consultancy of number of Govt. Companies, Joint Sector Companies, Banks, such as National Aluminium Company, 0il India Limited, Haldia Petrochemical Limited, Orissa Mining Corporation Limited , Grid Corporation of Orissa Limited, POSCO India (P) Limited , Andhra Bank, Bank of India and for a number of large Companies in Private Sector, World Bank aided projects as well as projects funded by International Funding Agencies. He served as a Central Council member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India from the year 1998 to 2001.
He served as a Member of Standing and non -standing Committees of ICAI during 3 years as: (a) Chairman, Committee on Ethical Standards & Unjustified Removal of Auditors. (b) Vice Chairman, ICAI-Accounting Research Foundation. (c) Professional Development Committee. (d) Committee on Electoral Reforms. (e) Board of Studies (f) Examination Committee. (g) Expert Advisory Committee. ( h) At present Member of Prospective Planning Committee of ICAI.
He served nine years in the Managing Committee of Cuttack – Bhubaneswar (All Orissa) Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, In different positions Including Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
His special achievements Include:
1. Serving as Director, Bhubaneswar Stock Exchange Association Ltd . for three terms (nominated by SEBI).
2. Serving as Secretary, Regional College of Management for eight years (one of the premier Institute in the state, Imparting education in Management).
3. Serving as the Convenor of Finance and Taxation Panel of Confederation of Indian Industry of Orissa state.
4. Serving for two terms as President, All Orissa Blind Association.
As advisor and active member of the Governing body, Mr. Maity is working closely with academic and skilling leadership team to concretize the University’s academic and skilling administration. He supports in framing policies, guidelines and developing Implementation strategies to facilitate academic as well as skilling excellence of all the centre of excellences of the University.
Before moving to C V Raman Global University, Mr.Maity was the Managing Director of Central Tool Room and Training Centre (CTTC) , Bhubaneswar, a GOI Autonomous Institute under Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India. During his long tenure of more than one and half decade as head of CTTC, Mr. Maity was Instrumental in making the institute as the no .1 (among all the 18 institutes of the Ministry) in the country in precision manufacturing and skill development training. He was also taken the leadership role in providing hand holding support and skill development training (for establishing vocational training centres) to the trainers/experts of various countries like Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Tajikistan, Palestine and various other countries in close association with Min of External Affairs and M/s HMT (I) Ltd. Mr. Maity has received gold medal from M/S ISRO for his outstanding contribution in manufacturing ultra-precision vital components/assly for various space missions Including Mangalyaan and Chandrayaan. He has received award from Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odlsha for his outstanding contribution in skill development training in the state of Odisha including India Skills.
Mr. Dwijaraj Kar is from the administration background who joined the State Administrative Service in March 1987 as a direct recruit and later joined the 2006 batch of Indian Administrative Service on promotion. He retired from Govt. Service in February 2019 on superannuation.
Mr Kar has varied experience in different fields of administration such as Panchayati Raj, Land Revenue, Land Acquisition, Education, Motor Vehicle etc. He also has the exposure to the affairs and businesses of the State Legislative Assembly in the capacity of Private Secretary to the Leader of Opposition. Sri Kar has worked as the Managing Director of a profit making State PSU, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, for a long span of more than six years just before his retirement.
