Mr. Sanjib Kumar Rout completed his studies in Electrical Engineering and Business Management and felt a strong desire to provide high-quality technical education. He established an industrial training and production center in Bhubaneswar, followed by a polytechnic institute and an engineering college. He grouped all these institutes under the C.V. Raman Group of Institutions (CVRGI) for better management. The new Education Policy of the government in 1996-97 gave him the necessary boost to pursue his ambitions.

Mr. Rout is a visionary leader who has made remarkable contributions to socio-educational growth through his unique teaching methods and leadership. In just twenty years, CVRGI has become a vehicle for educational reform, driving change and enriching lives through diverse thinking.

The flagship institution of CVRGI, C.V. Raman College of Engineering (CVRCE) in Odisha, has achieved a significant milestone by winning the first Gold Medal for India in the Water Technology category at the WorldSkills competition in Russia. This achievement reaffirms CVRCE’s position as a pioneer in skill-building and innovation for the future.
CVRCE has been renamed C.V. Raman Global University, Odisha (CGU, Odisha) after it became a university. This accomplishment reflects the tireless efforts of its President in promoting CGU on the global stage. While CGU strives to become the most desirable global university, it remains focused on helping the younger generation realize their potential and achieve a bright and promising future.

When Mrs. Shailja Rout began her career, she became a Finance Executive at the Medical Relief Society of South Kanara (Regd.) (Manipal Education and Medical Group). She played a crucial role in setting up the medical campus in Pokhara, Nepal, and was part of the founding team. Driven by a passion for education and a commitment to academic excellence, she became the Director of Finance for the C.V. Raman Group of Institutions in 1997. In 2000, she assumed the role of Managing Director at SSEPL. She is actively involved in organizing skill training programs under various schemes offered by the Government of Odisha and India. She holds degrees in M.Com., AICWA, PGDM, and LLB. Her impressive professional journey is a source of inspiration and adds value to the CGU community.

Sarat Chandra is a Chartered Accountant and Senior Partner at SRB & Associates, possessing over 40 years of experience in managing Statutory Audits, Internal Audits, Tax & Project Consultancy for various Government Companies, Joint Sector Companies, and Banks. He is a former Central Council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, having held several leadership roles on different standing and non-standing Committees. He has also served as a Director at Bhubaneswar Stock Exchange Association Ltd., Secretary at the Regional College of Management, and Convenor of the Finance and Taxation Panel of the Confederation of Indian Industry in Orissa. Additionally, he has been the President of the All Orissa Blind Association.

Prof. Banshidhar Majhi is an Alumnus of NIT Rourkela and completed his Masters and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering. He has more than 33 years of teaching and research experience coupled with 3 years of industry experience.
He has successfully guided 03 PDFs, 21 Ph. D.s, and 8 M.Tech. (Research), 70-odd M.Tech. and more than 200 B.Tech. theses/projects. He has more than 110 publications in referred Journals, 150 publications in conferences of repute, 07 book chapters, and 05 E-Prints to his credit. He has successfully executed Five Sponsored Projects from leading agencies like DST, DIT, ISRO, and DRDO as the Principal Investigator.
Academic administration has remained a core competency of Prof. Majhi from the day he joined the profession. He is one of the front runners in administration during RECR to NITR Conversion serving in various key positions like Head of the Department, PIC Examinations, Dean (Academic), and Chairman Automation Cell. The indigenous ERP developed under his supervision is a driving agent for 360-deree growth of NIT Rourkela. Subsequently, he has served as the Vice Chancellor VSSUT Burla (2021-24) and as Director, IIITDM Kancheepuram (2017-21).
He has received many awards and fellowships during his career; to name a few are the Global LEAP fellowship by MHRD in 2019-20, the coveted Samanta Chandra Sekhar Award in the year 2016 for his outstanding contribution in Engineering and Technology by Odisha Bigyan Academy, Govt. of Odisha, the Vidya Sagar Award, 2019 by ICCCSN Society, JC Bose Gold Medal for Best Engg. Paper from IETE in 2001, Gold Medal from Orissa Engineering. Congress in 2000.
Whatever he has achieved in his life, Prof. Majhi owe to his Family, to his elder brother in particular and his dedicated teachers in schools. He strongly believes that serving with discipline, dedication, sincerity, and integrity are the key factors for bringing effectiveness to any system. Further, there always exists a scope to improve any system. His key mantra in life is “EFFORTS NEVER FAIL” and his efforts are always oriented towards “WELFARE OF THE COMMUNITY”.

Dr. G. Sridevi obtained her B. Tech degree from Kakatiya University in 1990, followed by an M. Tech from R.E.C. Warangal in 1992, and a Ph.D. from JNTUK, Kakinada in 2012. She has 30 years of comprehensive academic experience in prestigious institutions, encompassing teaching, administration, and research roles. She served as a faculty member at RVR & JC College of Engineering in Guntur for 18 years and at C.V. Raman College of Engineering in Bhubaneswar for 4 years. She worked for 8 years at B.V. Raju Institute of Technology, Narsapur, during which time she held the position of Professor and Head of the Civil Engineering Department.

Dr. Sridevi has authored more than 50 papers for both international and national journals and conferences. She is an active member of professional societies such as the Indian Geotechnical Society and the American Society of Civil Engineers, and takes an active role in organizing student competitions through IGS. Her contributions to academia include organizing seminars, conferences, and workshops, serving as chair and co-chair at various conferences/events, and she has also been involved in seminar and conference organizing committees.

Her research focuses on soil stabilization using industrial wastes and pavement geotechniques.  Dr. Sridevi has been serving as a National Executive Committee member of the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS), New Delhi, continuously for three terms since 2019. She is currently holding the same position, demonstrating her dedication and commitment to the field of geotechnical engineering and the society’s objectives. Additionally, she is serving as the Secretary of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Southern Region.

As the Registrar of the University, Dr. Binita Panda brings with her over 14 years of combined experience in teaching and industry. She earned her MBA in Human Resource Management from Utkal University and went on to complete her Ph.D. in the same field from Fakir Mohan University, Balasore. Dr. Panda has a notable record of published research papers and participation in various short-term training programs and conferences. Given her extensive background and position as the Chief Administrative Officer of the University, she is committed to providing robust leadership that aligns with the institution’s academic goals and mission.
