Overview

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in 1997 with a vision to produce able, skilled, competent, thoughtful, and creative Computer scientists. The prime objective behind this was to enable them to meet all sorts of challenges in the corporate world. With a confident and steady footing in technical education, it has shown tremendous growth in the last two decades to establish itself as the strongest department of the University. Consequently, in 2019, the department has been successfully accredited to the Tier-1 category by NBA. To date, it has produced more than 3500 computer science engineering graduates who are spread across the globe holding the department’s banner proudly and flying high with dignity and confidence.
With a blended group of an experienced, young, and energetic team of competent, qualified, and committed faculty members and support staff under a dynamic leadership, the department has shown excellence in both teaching & research and intent to continue the same in future. The diversity of expertise can be seen among the faculty members starting from Wireless sensor networks, Machine learning/Deep Learning, Cloud/Fog computing, Cyber Security, Natural Language Processing and many more. As a result, doctoral research scholars and faculties continuously publish quality research articles in top-notch indexed journals.
One of the department’s core strengths is the industry-aligned curriculum which mainly focuses on future technologies like Machine learning, Data science, Big data, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing etc. Apart from normal academics, the department offers skill development courses by industry persons in various emerging future skills and encourages students to get global certification that will help them be parring both nationally and globally, providing them with an edge. The department is associated with prestigious industry partners such as NASSCOM, IBM, MARCRAFT, AWS and Google, who are associated in various ways ranging from curriculum design to academy partner. As a result, the department continues to bag the highest placements records consistently over the years. No wonder some students can even place themselves in FAANG companies as freshers.

    To provide the fundamental knowledge in mathematics, science and engineering concepts for the development of engineering system (Fundamental Knowledge).

    To apply current industry accepted computing practices and emerging technologies to analyze, design, implement, test and verify high quality computing systems and computer based solutions to real world problems (Design and development).

    To enable the use of appropriate skill sets and its applications towards social impacts of computing technologies in the career related activities (Skill Set) and to produce Efficient team leaders, effective communicators and capable of working in multi-disciplinary environment following ethical values(Team Leader ).

    To practice professionally and ethically in various positions of industry or government and/or succeed in graduate (Professionalism) and to make substantial contributions to the society (Societal Contribution).

    Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

B.TECH

B.TECH
(4Years)
Passed 10+2 examination (intermediate) with 60% marks along with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
LE B.TECH (3Years)
a. Passed Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in any branch of Engineering and Technology.

b. Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by the UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject. However, the students belonging to B.Sc. stream, seeking admission in mechanical engineering, shall be required to clear the subjects in Engineering Graphics /Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the First Year Engineering Program along with the Second year subjects. The students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall be considered for admission only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with regular students belonging to the Diploma stream.

c. Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.

d. In the above cases, suitable bridge Courses, if required, such as in Mathematics may be conducted.
