HOD’s Message

Once as the leader of maritime activities Indians had set sails across the seven oceans doing maritime trade far and wide from its ancient ports on its long coast line when the rest of the world was primitive & remained confined to caves and used canoes. We lost our shine in maritime field due to the onslaught of foreign invasion in the medieval period and the seat of our sprawling maritime activities and ship building has shrunk to a mere celebration of putting paper boats on Kartika Purnima today to remember our long lost maritime glory by our women folks in Odisha ,then known as Kalinga. Now after independence once again we resumed our march in the maritime field from our long coast line endowed with 12 major ports & numerous developing ports and in our lakes, rivers and inland waterways with the implementation of regular government policies .Economy of a nation depends primarily on its GDP and trade volumes .The maritime trade is the cheapest mode of transport and thus viable for us to do 95% of our trade to boost our economy and match with the other major economies of the world.

Here lies the potential in the maritime field to develop maritime education, infrastructures & jobs to take our economy to the next level ensuring our position among the top economies with timely implementation of policies. Our achievements in this field with the increase of multifold trade growth has opened the doors for the developments of port facilities , inland waterways, maritime education and tourism along with an up-swing in our maritime administration and management.

So there lies the opportunities for our hardworking ,dedicated youths to take advantage of our CGU marine platform with cutting edge facilities to guide them and train them to become the administrators, managers and the industry worthy professionals to fill the vacant slots in the field through our undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs at CGU marine that is second to none .Here we welcome economically deprived parents to send their children to peruse a lucrative career in marine field with our minimum fee structure.

Welcome on board to our B.Tech Marine, PGDME and STCW course program inside our lash green 120 acres CGU multi discipline campus with the best facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, workshops, world skill welding labs, auditoriums, centers of excellence( Siemens, Rexforth, Automobile, Robotic, Hydraulic, Automation), hostels, playground, swimming pool, food courts, parks, fountains, shipping campus ,stadium, library, health facilities, conveyance facilities and internet facilities not far from the airport ,railway station and city center.
